POLICE PROCEDURAL GENRE CONVENTIONS

 

Today in media we discussed police procedural genre conventions and compared those of Endeavour with Cuffs.

We highlighted the difference in time, uniform and setting

 We came with the conclusion that Cuffs is set in the 2020s so there are representations of different ethnicities, of gay people, of women. it is also family-friendly.

  Whereas Endeavour was set around the times of the 1950s so displayed characters and how people where treated differently.

We were trying to achieve shadow and light through mystery.
